Worn and Aged tires can be very dangerous and should be replaced before heading out on a long road trip. Signs of wear include excessive tread wear, wear along the edges and cracks or cuts along the sidewalls. If your tires do not look evenly warn it might be time to rotate them –  tires should be rotated every 6,000 miles.
