New Year’s Eve and St. Patrick’s Day may have come and gone, but we still have sober driving on the mind. Before you know it, Memorial Day and July 4th will also be here. While we tend to emphasize these days because of the high concentration of intoxicated individuals who chose to drive on these days, we would be doing a disservice if we didn’t take a moment to discuss why you should we vigilant about driving sober every day of the year.

Driving under the influence of alcohol or another substance not only puts your life at risk, but it puts everyone else on the road at risk. One moment can alert the course of someone’s life… forever. Make sure you and everyone on the road makes it back to see their loved ones. Additionally, it can cost you thousands of dollars in fines.

While it can be easy to prepare for large-scale events like St. Patrick’s Day or Memorial Day, it can be more common instances that present potentially dangerous situations. Happy hour with your coworkers. Dinner with friends at your favorite restaurant. Movie night with the girls. Moments like these happen all the time and you want to make sure you have a plan in place on how to avoid driving intoxicated. Whether it’s Uber, a designated driver, or staying where you are for the night, make sure you plan in locked in before you head out. Simple planning can help avoid heartache and loss.
